Blackpool Zoo is situated in over 35 acres of mature parkland in a tranquil and easy accessible location on East Park Drive adjacent to the towns Stanley Park. In the last few years several changes have been made to the many exhibits there and the Zoo now features "Elephant Encounters", "Flight Demonstrations", special feeding events, keeper talks and displays.

One of the latest additions to the zoo's varied and rare collection of over 400 animals, birds, reptiles and insects is "Jitu" a huge 35 stone Western Lowland Gorilla who is one of the most magnificent specimens in Europe. Kate and Crumple the zoo's adorable Asian elephants give regular daily displays with there keepers showing just how agile, caring and intelligent they are, whilst the Californian Sea Lions regularly steal the show with there water acrobatics during feeding times.

The awesome site of the Magnificent Siberian Tigers just feet away from the visitor can be a thrilling experience, and African Lions lazing arrogantly in the afternoon sun completes a safari eyes view.

The Zoo is a world of colour and variety with fascinating creatures from every corner of the globe just waiting to be discovered around the next corner. The "Lemur Wood" one of Europe's first Lemur walk-through displays, where visitors and Lemurs walk together without restrictions for the first time.

Blackpool Zoo also boasts a fantastic state of the art simulator one of only two in Europe. This incredible piece of technology set in a cast-away Caribbean location, allows visitors to experience the real thrills of "Riding with Dolphins", "Animal Senses" and a wacky outer space roller coaster ride. Other new additions are also in the pipeline including a special illuminated "Night Zoo" and other interactive presentations.

Fully equipped Zoo School, Zoo Trails, Bioartefact touch tables & displays and animal handling sessions are all included, making a visit to Blackpool Zoo, a learning day to remember.

Optional extras include: Interactive craft and activity sessions, themed events, plus the hugely exiting "Elephant Encounters".


All in all Blackpool Zoo offers the perfect "value for money" day out, with good access, free parking and discounted family tickets. You can even catch a free bus from the Promenade.

The visitor will find something for all ages and there are always new and exciting things to discover.

Blackpool Tower

Black Pool Tower that world famous Victorian landmark, recently restored to it's former glory. The entertainment is first class and all holidaymakers visiting, think it's great. Even the weather can't spoil the fabulous entertainment that abounds within the Tower building. You're sure to enjoy yourself.


The basement auditorium holds the magical Tower Circus, it is part of the inclusive entertainment . There are several shows daily. Young and old alike will thrill to the marvel of the Circus.

Why not experience the fabulous and well known grade listed ballroom, with its ornate ceiling. Deep down below the stage, the mighty Wurlitzer organ rises and plays almost 19,000 numbers in a season. If you would like to dance, that's great, or you can quietly sit and listen to the many tunes and enjoy yourself.
There's only one admission charge for the whole building. You'll find plenty to keep you and the children happy all day. There's the Tower Aquarium, and Dawn of Ages ride. A visit to Jungle Jim's adventure playground is an absolute must, everyone loves it, so will you! SEE YOU SOON.

The Illuminations

Blackpool Illuminations is the resorts greatest attraction and is reckoned to be the best free show in Europe with its 7 miles of illuminated and motorised tableaux and miles of festoon lights. Starting the last Friday in August and running through to the nearest Sunday to the 4th November each year the Illuminations attract over 6 million visitors in the period.

The Golden Mile

The Golden Mile is one of the most famous miles in Britain, where you can have a laugh a minute. Why not put one of the hats on with an outrageous slogan. You can get some of the latest jokes and novelty items, and have a real laugh with your friends.
Why not try your luck and win one of the many varied furry friends as a prize, or as Lily Savage says on tv, be Bingo mad and wait anxiously and enjoy a game or two on the seafront. Cross a palm with notes as it is now, and you can tremble as you have your fortune told.
Blackpool has lost its image of the past and most of the action today is held in many luxury arcades like the famous Coral Island, Funland and Oasis.

Louis Tusaud's Waxworks is perhaps known throughout the world. It enables you to mix with anyone who is, or was, anyone, including the rich, famous and even infamous, in the splendid galleries of Louis Tussaud's Waxworks.
Our artists work all year round to create the models of those who make the news. Pay a visit if you dare to the Chamber Of Horrors, and see many other interesting, creepy, and eerie figures. I'm sure you would not feel you have visited Blackpool without having your palm read, and having some candy floss, even if it does stick to your nose. This is all part of the fun of the Golden Mile.

The Pleasure Beach

The Pleasure Beach is Britain's most popular tourist attraction with over 6.5 million visitors a year, and has something for all the family in it's 42 acres of funland.

There is the timeless Alice In Wonderland, the Greatest Show On Earth, or the Dinosaur Age with a cruise through the River Caves. The Log Flume is always popular, and now there is a junior version, The Beaver Creek theme park, There are all manner of stalls for you to win some great prizes; darts, airguns, coconut shy. And of course you couldn't go without buying a toffee apple, candyfloss or fish & chips.

Whether you're 2 or 102, there's something for every age group.

Major Rides and Attractions:

The Pepsi Max Big One is the tallest and fastest rollercoaster in Europe. At 235 feet high and with speeds reaching up to 87mph, the Big One is certainly head and shoulders above the rest.

Valhalla is an enormous indoor log flume ride and is the biggest, most spectacular dark ride ever to be constructed by mankind.

The Ice Blast, the UK’s first of its kind. Riders are catapulted up a 210 ft tower at 80mph, and thrust back down again for an incredible free-fall descent.
The White-knuckle ride Spin Doctor has riders spinning 360 degrees through the air to heights of 120 feet at speeds of over 60 mph.

The Bling experience sees you are lifted a whopping 100 feet above the ground and spun through the air on giant glittering gondolas in three different directions at speeds of over 60mph as the ride pulls 2.5gs.

Europe's first twin-track racing coaster was constructed in 1935 and remains one of the most popular wooden rollercoasters in the world.

There are have 45 restaurants and cafes offering a range of eating experiences from the Oriental to traditional fish and chips to pizza and pasta. Arrive for breakfast, stay for lunch or dinner, or take a snack on the go!
